The New Patriotic Party has commissioned a new party office building at Busunya in the Nkoranza North constituency of Bono East region. The office was built and donated to the party by the Constituency Chairman, Emmanuel Amofah Asafo-Adjei, with support from the NPP General Secretary John Boadu and one Jacqueline Boatema Bonsu, a constituency patron. Mr Boadu also donated to the constituency, computers and other accessories as well as an undisclosed amount of money. The Jospong Group of Companies has protested government’s takeover of the Great Consolidated Diamonds Ghana Limited, describing the action as illegal and unconstitutional. A statement issued Monday by the Jospong chastised government for sidestepping due process and disregarding an ongoing court case to take over which has for the past decade been closed down. Boris Johnson’s decision to suspend Parliament was unlawful, the Supreme Court has ruled. Mr Johnson suspended – or prorogued – Parliament for five weeks earlier this month, saying it was to allow a Queen’s Speech to outline his new policies. It has emerged that at least two senior military officers of the Ghana Armed Forces have been detained by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) for questioning over alleged coup plot targeted at the presidency. The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has deployed medication to communities in the North East region where scabies outbreak has left hundreds of people, mostly women and children with severe skin rashes and severe itching. At least 14 communities in the newly created region have for the past month been battling the strange skin disease, which they initially claimed, was a punishment from the gods until sampled blood test proved positive of scabies, a contagious and intensely itchy skin condition.
