The Electoral Commission (EC) has been sued for its failure to provide a copy of the provisional voters register to the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Chairman of the NDC Samuel Ofosu Ampofo argued Thursday that the EC has contravened regulation 22(2) of the Public Elections Regulations (Voter Registration) C.I.91 which requires the EC to furnish political parties with a copy of the provisional register. Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram Sam George says government white paper on the Emile Short Commission’s report clearly vindicates his assertion that the Akufo-Addo government approved of the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence. Education Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has asserted that at least 432,405 students who qualified for senior high school have been placed. The number represents 91.2 percent of the total placement for first year students out of the 473,728 qualified candidates. Addressing the media on Thursday, the minister said a total of 520,298 vacancies were declared by 721 public and private schools for the 2019/20 academic year. Sixty-eight students have graduated with employable skills from the Pentecost Skills Development Center (PSDC) at Teshie Nungua in Accra. The students who form the second batch of trainees from the Center which was established three years ago, graduated in catering, cosmetology, fashion and ICT.
