A National Democratic Congress parliamentary aspirant for Madina Constituency, Francis Xavier Sosu, has raised red flag over ballot papers being issued delegates in the area in the ongoing constituency primary. Delegates of the National Democratic Congress across the country are voting today to elect candidates to stand on the ticket of the party in the various constituencies in the 2020 parliamentary election. A total of 524 persons are contesting today’s primaries to become parliamentary candidates in just 157 constituencies where the elections are taking place. Primaries in Asawase, Ellembelle, Fanteakwa North, Mpohor and Yilo Krobo constituencies have been suspended for varied reasons. The US authorities have charged 80 people, “most of whom are Nigerian nationals”, with participating in a conspiracy to steal millions of dollars, prosecutors say. They are accused of using business email fraud schemes and romance scams to con victims – many of them elderly. Police have so far arrested 14 suspects across the US, 11 in Los Angeles alone.
