A house and a Land Cruiser vehicle belonging to a former Member of Parliament,  Ibrahim Dey Abubakari, has been seized to satisfy a 1.5 millon-cedi judgment debt in favour of a former National Security Advisor, Alhaji Baba Kamara. The Police in Accra have retrieved one AK-47 riffle and 19 of the 20 rounds of ammunition stolen from the Akporman-Manna Police post at Adenta in Accra. Three persons, who the police say stole the weapon, have been arrested. Frank Dogboe who was the first suspect to be arrested on August 16, led the police to retrieve the riffle and 19 of the 20 rounds of stolen ammunition wrapped in a black polyethylene from a bush at Amaria near Teiman. The chief of Dodou, near Sarpeiman in the Ga West municipality of the Greater Accra Region, has been remanded by a magistrate court in Accra for attempted murder. Nii Ayitey Anumle Oyanka I who shot a 40-year-old man multiple times near his palace, pleaded not guilty to attempted murder, abduction and assault. He is expected again in court on September 4. A man in his late 30s has been shot multiple times, leaving him with life-threatening injuries at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in the Sekondi/Takoradi metropolis of the Western Region. A Zimbabwean comedian has been found after being abducted and beaten by masked gunmen in the capital Harare, her relatives and colleagues say. Samantha Kureya, known by her stage name “Gonyeti”, has been critical of the police and government in her skits. She was taken from her home, beaten and forced to drink sewage before being dumped, her colleague says.
