Musician Okyeame Kwame, affectionately called the ‘Rap Dacta’, has said it is high time Ghana fought hard to reduce the prevalence of Hepatitis B. According to him, Hepatitis B is a ‘killer disease’, the reason for which he kept pushing a campaign in the past 10 years to eradicate the virus. Speaking on TV3’s New Day, O.K, as he is sometimes called, said he will continue to champion the fight against Hepatitis. “If anything should stop, it should be the virus, not me. I read in the Ghana Web a publication on 17th July 2019 attributed to Mr. Asiedu Nketia, in which he was alleged to have said that he “personally warned” me, Martin Amidu, “against taking up the job of Special Prosecutor because the laws that established the office does not give him the needed powers to work effectively.” As a student of and a professional conflict resolution practitioner, I decided to ignore the allegations attributed to his fulminations as fake news because what was allegedly attributed to him never took place between us or the party before my nomination, approval and appointment…
A former Minister of Youth and Sports, Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, has described as outrageous, the government’s budget for Ghana’s participation in the just ended 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt. For the former minister under the John Mahama administration, the 6.3 million dollars budgeted for the Black Stars and the entire Ghana’s contingent “doesn’t make sense”. Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah on Wednesday told Parliament that the government spent a little over 4.5 million dollars of the budgeted amount from the team’s camping in Dubai till their exit from the tournament in Egypt in the round of 16. The biggest issue for discussion in the entertainment landscape over the past couple of week has got to be the Lion King album released by American pop singer and actress, Beyoncé. Beyoncé, or Queen Bey, as her fans call her, is a massive star. Let’s not mince words, she is arguably the biggest star in popular music at the moment. Of course we have known this for ages, but this fact became even more real to me during the concert to mark Africa’s version of the Global Citizen Festival in Johannesburg last December. It was a great concert of with…
