Calm has been restored at the Ghana Bauxite Company Limited (GBC Ltd) in Awaso of the newly created Western North Region. This was after the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC), Michael Ansah, led a delegation to pay a working visit to the company. The GSMA, which represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide, has entered into a partnership with the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) and Vodafone Ghana to deploy mobile internet solutions in unconnected rural communities. The partnership which will run from July 2019 to late 2020 is part of the Connected Society Innovation Fund for Rural Connectivity. The Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu Ekuful has welcomed the partnership agreement, which she says will go a long way to promote government’s drive towards internet proliferation, across the country, especially in rural areas. Mr. Alhassan Tampuli, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has said that significant progress have been made towards the pilot implementation of the Cylinder Re-circulation Model (CRM) under the National Liquefied petroleum Gas (LPG) policy. The World Health Organization has declared the Ebola crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo a “public health emergency of international concern”. The move may encourage wealthy donor countries to provide more cash.
