The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has served notice it will fight against government’s decision to restrict access to free-to-air television channels in the country. The Ministry of Communications and its agency, the National Communications Authority, NCA, are pushing for a policy that seeks to regulate broadcasters when Ghana fully migrates from analogue to digital television transmission. A seven-year-old special needs girl from Cape Coast, Ayeyi Yiadom-Boakye, had her wish of meeting the First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo come true. Ayeyi had in a TV3 report highlighting her condition, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, also known as brittle bone disease, told Portia Gabor she wishes to meet the mother of the land who she appealed to for help. A student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has drowned at a beach in the Takoradi-Sekondi municipality of the Western Region. The deceased, James Emil Cudjoe Jnr, a real estate student, was said to have gone to the Ekuase beach to swim with his colleagues Wednesday afternoon when he was carried away by the sea. Cudjoe’s body has since not yet been found. Government says it intends to airlift supporters from Ghana to Egypt to rally behind the Black Stars in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
