Preliminary investigations have revealed the police officer who was escorting the Metro Mass Transit bus on which some 250 ammunition were discovered and seized Sunday evening did not travel with the bus from Tamale. According to the Northern Regional Police Command, the unnamed officer joined the Chereponi bound bus from Yendi and not Tamale where the bus was loaded and took off from. The Electoral Commission (EC) has indefinitely suspended the planned limited voters registration exercise which was scheduled to begin from Friday June 7. A statement from the EC Monday said the decision stemmed from a pending injunction application seeking to restrain the Commission from going ahead with the registration exercise. It said a new date will be announced shortly. “Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted,” the statement added. Caster Semenya will not need to take testosterone-reducing medication after a Swiss court temporarily suspended a new IAAF ruling, her legal team says.
