Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu, Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini, has questioned the kind of dams being constructed under the government’s ‘one village one dam’ programme at a cost of 2.5 million cedis each. In his estimation, the supposed dams being constructed in the northern part of Ghana under the programme do not even qualify to be termed as dugouts. The Government of the United Kingdom has pledged funds to undertake three major infrastructure projects in Ghana this year. The Tamale Airport, the Bekwai hospital project and the Kumasi Central Market are all set to receive funding to either undergo major expansion, construction or facilitate the installation of essential equipment as part of the UK government’s partnership agreements with the Government of Ghana. Government has presented 50 motorbikes to the Bawku West District Assembly in the Upper East Region for distribution to all assembly members in the area. The bikes are to help the 50 assembly members in the district to effectively monitor their respective electoral areas and also enhance the discharge of their duties.
