Police in the Western Region with the support of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and the Information Service Department (ISD) have begun a sensitization campaign on personal safety in second cycle institutions in the region. A record eight-hour gridlock left hundreds of motorists and passengers stranded Thursday along the Takoradi-Tarkwa road, one of the busiest major roads in the Western Region. A tanker transporting liquefied petroleum gas lost balance and fell on its side at a portion of the road between Nsuaem and Kofikrom around 12:00, cutting off vehicles travelling from both ends. The Ghana Police says it is looking for cartographers to use information so far gathered by investigators to sketch the alleged killers of undercover journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale. All graphic images of self-harm will be removed from Instagram, the head of the social media platform has told the BBC. The move comes after the father of 14-year-old Molly Russell, who took her own life in 2017, said Instagram had “helped kill” his daughter. Molly’s family found she had been viewing graphic images of self-harm on the site prior to her death.
