The chief executive officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Gifty Klenam has launched the national cashew mass spraying exercise in the Wenchi municipality of the Brong Ahafo region to increase production. The cashew mass spraying exercise, which is being piloted, will cover most cashew growing areas in the Brong Ahafo region and extended to other parts of the country by 2020. Apple has confirmed all its Mac systems and iOS devices are affected by two recently disclosed processor flaws called Spectre and Meltdown. In an announcement on Thursday, Apple (AAPL) said it has released mitigations to defend against Meltdown in iOS 11.2, macOS 10.13.2, and tvOS 11.2. It will release mitigations in Safari to defend against the Spectre bug “in the coming days,” the release said. “There are no known exploits impacting customers at this time,” Apple said, echoing what other companies and security researchers have said. The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) says it can confirm a four percent increase in fuel prices at most of the filling stations. The claim contradicts announcement by the National Petroleum Authority that prices of LPG and petrol at the pumps would remain unchanged from January 1, 2018. The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has been ordered to suspend, indefinitely, introduction of the compulsory first aid kit. Drivers, from January 2018, were charged GHc108 for the mandatory kit as part of the ongoing annual Vehicle Registration and Licensing Regime being implemented by the Authority.
