Sunda International Ghana Ltd., a Chinese company operating in Ghana, has donated cash and relief items totalling forty thousand Ghana cedis (GHc40,000) to victims of Saturday night’s atomic junction gas explosion at the 37 military Hospital in Accra. The Sunda international donation comes in immediate response to appeals made to corporate Ghana by Vice president Mahamudu Bawumia on Sunday morning to assist surviving victims, most of whom are currently on admission at the 37 military hospital. Tunisia’s health minister has died of a heart attack after taking part in a charity marathon to help fight cancer. Slim Chaker, 56, fell ill after running some 500 metres, and died in a military hospital, the health ministry said. Prime Minister Youssef Chahed said he had lost a “brother and colleague”, who had died doing a noble humanitarian act. The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers has identified the use of ‘manual valves’ in discharging liquefied petroleum gas from a tanker truck into a storage tank as the possible cause of last Saturday’s gas explosion at Atomic Junction. An application challenging the legitimacy of Thaddeus Sory in representing the chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Mrs Charlotte Osei, as lawyer in the petition seeking her removal has been withdrawn. A man who abandoned his car to flee from the Atomic Junction gas explosion in Accra last Saturday has had the car stolen.
