The family of the slain soldier, Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama, has announced that he would be buried on Friday, June 9. Spokespersons for the family, Zakaria Sakara and WOII Ibrahim Samed, said the family would be meeting today and put final touches to plans as to how the funeral would be held. Mr. Herbert Mensah, President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) has expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the June 3rd 2015 flood victims. Guinness Ghana Brewery Limited has announced plans to increase the use of sorghum which constitutes 50 percent of the total local raw materials used for its production to 70 per cent. About 48 percent of the raw materials used by the company are sourced locally. The 70% sorghum will translate into 15 metric tonnes by 2020. Francis-Xavier Sosu, a renowned human rights lawyer, has been suspended by the General Legal Council for misconducting himself. He was found guilty of advertising himself on social media and was subsequently banned from practicing as a lawyer for three years. Stepped up reproductive health education in the Atwima-Kwanwoma District is paying off as teenage pregnancy drops in the area. The District Health Director, Mrs. Comfort Suglo, said it went down by 5.1 per cent, last year. A total of 458 cases were reported in year 2016, compared with the 2015 figure of 507. At least 15 children have died in South Sudan from a botched attempt to immunise them against measles, officials say. They were vaccinated with the same unsterilised syringe, and the vaccine was not stored properly, according to an investigation into the deaths. As a result, the immunisation campaign caused severe infection and sepsis. The team administering the vaccinations was “neither qualified nor trained” to do so, the health minister said.
