The First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Brong Ahafo Region, Alex Asare, and his wife, Yaa Achiaa, are in the grips of the police for allegedly taking over three toilet facilities in the aftermath of the 2016 elections. Mr Asare is said to have led one Justice Appiah to seize the facilities in Derma, near Bechem in the Brong Ahafo Region. The government of Ghana is projecting to raise some GHC17,400.00 million in the first quarter of 2017 (January to March) in bonds and notes to rollover forecast maturities of bond and notes amounting to GHC15,504.43 million. The remaining amount of GHC1,895.56 which is fresh issuance will be used to meet the governments financing needs and build buffers for liability managements. The Commander of the Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, ACP Patrick Adusei Sarpong, has warned that it is unlawful for police to remove the ignition keys of vehicles while on duties on roads. He has also warned that police officers have no right to remove stickers of drivers when they are arrested for road traffic offence. The number of people who died through vehicular accident in the year 2016 increased by 5.64 per cent on the 2015 number of people who died. 2,198 people lost their lives through vehicular accident in 2016 as against the 1,634 people who lost their lives in the year 2015. A 35-year-old farmer at Kwaanan, a village in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District of the Central Region, has reportedly severed his manhood completely. Isaac Peter, alias Paa Kojo, after chopping off the manhood, picked it and chewed the bleeding organ.
