Ayorkor Botchwey discredits chat messages, says they are falsified

Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway has dismissed a widely circulated screenshot showing a purported conversation between her and an unidentified person. The tone of the conversation suggested that the minister was conceding to wrong doing in the controversial Oslo property being purchased for Ghana’s chancery in Norway. But the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration issued a strongly worded statement to disassociate the minister from the said “contrived, malicious and falsified” conversation. The chat messages, the statement said, “are creative and crafty renditions of the overactive imaginations of people who have made it their personal mission to malign, smear and cause disaffection for the office of the Minister for Foreign Affairs for their own malicious purposes.” Find the full statement below The Hon.
