The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia would touch down at the Kotoka International Airport on Thursday February 1, 2018 after seeking medical attention in the United Kingdom. The Vice President who took ill on Friday, January 19, 2018 was advised by medical doctors to take his medical leave outside the country. A statement issued by the Office of the President and signed by the Director of Communications, Eugene Arhin, confirmed the return of Dr. Bawumia on Thursday. Though the statement did not mention the time he is expected to arrive, it says, the Vice President “will be met on arrival by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and the First Lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo”. Dr. Bawumia who went to the UK with the wife, Samira, were last week spotted on the streets of London looking healthy. Samira Bawumia had last week promised that her husband would be back home soon.
