The immediate past Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is besides himself with sorrow about the battered image of the party seeking to annex power in 2024.
Mr. Samuel Ofosu–Ampofo, who was disposed of his position at the party’s national delegates congress on Saturday, felt there were needless vilification and personal attacks ahead of the congress.
He was beaten to the chairmanship position by the NDC’s former General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia.

In his first public statement after leaving office, to congratulate the newly elected executives, Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo captured what appears to be an internal acrimonious campaign and the danger it poses to the NDC’s fortunes in the next general elections.
“While this elections needlessly witnessed the worse form of inner vilification, personal attacks and public injury to the hard-won reputation of our Party through various means of public spaces and on social media platforms, this insensitivity would inadvertently affect our restitution, unity and cohesion needed to engender the collective prosecution of our agenda for victory 2024.”
He therefore admonished the rank and file of the party to appreciate that the outcome of the just ended congress is a prelude to the “battle ahead”.
“I pray that we quickly recover from our individual pain and dented reputation to restore our public morality so we can join forces to soldier on.”
The former chairman, who is seen to be the most bruised in the vilification and personal attacks he talked about, pledged his unflinching support to the party into the forthcoming parliamentary and presidential elections.
“I re-dedicate myself to the bigger task of working for victory 2024 and pledge my unalloyed commitment to work even harder for the party together with the elected National officers, and the rank and file of our great party to achieve our ultimate goal of regaining power from the NPP in 2024.
“Once again congratulations! May God Help Us All”.
