The Electricity Company of Ghana on Monday announced that a technical challenge affecting MMS-compliant meters has been resolved, restoring normal electricity credit purchases for affected customers.
In a statement dated 29 December 2025, ECG said users of MMS-compliant meters can now successfully buy electricity credits through the ECG Power App, the short code *226#, and authorised third-party vendors. The earlier disruption had affected transactions made through these platforms.
The power distributor thanked customers and the general public for their patience, support and cooperation during the period of the technical difficulty. ECG also encouraged customers to continue using its official platforms and services, saying the restoration would help improve service delivery.
The company said it remains committed to serving customers better and will provide updates through official channels when necessary.
