The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the 2020/21 league season will start in the second week of October should the government approve it.
In a statement, the GFA said it will “continue to work with Government, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Sports Authority, the Ghana Health Service, the GFA Medical Committee, Clubs and all relevant stakeholders to bring back football in the safest way for all participants”.
The season will also be run on a project called ‘Football against Covid-19’ which will offer “entertainment to Ghanaians while staying safe at home”.
The statement went on to say that the format of the season may change due to the coronavirus pandemic and key differentiating factor will be playing behind closed doors.
The transfer window, the GFA said, will also be opened on Saturday, August 12, 2020 to Saturday, October 31, 2020.
