NPP’S campaign in crisis

Renowned Kumawood actor Agya Koo, also known as Kofi Adu, has delivered a scathing assessment of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) campaign and its flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The veteran actor, who is a member of the NPP, remarked that the campaign of the ruling party is faltering and lacks the effectiveness required to secure an extension of their term in office.

In his interactions with campaign volunteers, Agya Koo observed underlying challenges that are being overlooked.

A 1:48 minute video circulating depicts Agya Koo, actively engaging in grassroots campaigning for the NPP, lamenting the lack of volunteers to promote the party’s agenda in rural areas, along with logistical constraints.

He accused some party members of hoarding essential campaign materials, which deprives willing supporters from contributing effectively to the cause.

Agya Koo urged Dr. Bawumia and his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, to take decisive action and address these shortcomings.

“Our mission to break the eight-year cycle requires a united effort. I have reached out to various groups, but what is our overarching vision? When Dr. Bawumia and Dr. NAPO shared their challenges with me, it was concerning,” remarked Agya Koo.

Expressing his recent experiences during a tour of the Western Region, Agya Koo emphasized the inadequacies of the NPP campaign compared to the proactive approach of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He observed the NDC’s robust presence in villages and towns, facilitated by a fleet of branded vehicles and motorcycles, a sight missing from the NPP’s efforts. Agya Koo appealed to the NPP campaign team to enhance their strategies and match the NDC’s thorough campaigning style.

He highlighted the frustration among party members who are willing to canvass for votes but are hindered by the lack of necessary resources. “The Western Region visit vividly showcased the stark contrast in campaign activities.

While the NDC saturates the rural areas with their campaign machinery, the NPP seems absent. We need to address this imbalance urgently,” urged Agya Koo.

In a concluding plea, he called out party officials who control crucial resources yet inhibit effective campaigning efforts.

Agya Koo emphasized the urgency of engaging disheartened members to secure their support and participation in the upcoming election.
