Ghanaian champions Aduana Stars were held at home in a six-goal CAF Confederation Cup Group A encounter on Wednesday.
It was the second game of the group phase of the 2018 Cup with the Ghanaians playing at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa Ahenkro in the Brong Ahafo Region for the first time.
The Moroccans went ahead three times with the host equalizing on each occasion.
The last equalizer came in injury time as substitute Nathaniel Asamoah, a former Golden Boot winner in the Ghanaian league, smashed home the ball to send the fans into raptures.
Mahmoud Benhalib had opened the score for the visitors in the 11th minute but it was cancelled after just 10 minutes by Oba Ikama.
Lema Mabidi sent the Moroccans ahead again in the 39th minute but that goal had to take Aduana Stars four minutes of second half play to equalize.
Caleb Amankwaah scored that second goal for the Ghanaians.
But it was Benhalib’s second goal of the day that took Aduana Stars a straggle to cancel.
The home fans felt disappointed as the match was heading to a loss but Asamoah, who played for Raja in 2015 before returning to Ghana to sign for Aduana, snatched a point for the Ogya boys.
But the result could not lift the Ghanaian champions from off the bottom of Group A.
DR Congo’s AS Vita moved to the top of the group with a 3-1 home win over Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosas, who drop to second on 3 points.
Raja Casablanca are third with 2 points while Wednesday’s point is what Aduana have so far.
