The Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has described as outlandish allegations of corruption leveled against her by colleague Member of Parliament Kennedy Ohene Agyapong. “They are patently false and I challenge [Kennedy Agyapong] to come forward with evidence that corroborates his outlandish allegations,” Mrs Owusu-Ekuful said in a statement dated September 1, 2017. Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has branded judges in the country’s Supreme Court “crooks” after they annulled his win in presidential elections. He earlier called for calm and said he would respect the ruling but struck a more combative note at a Nairobi rally. The court cited irregularities in last month’s election and ordered a new one within 60 days. The poll had raised fears of major violence similar to that following a disputed vote in 2007.
