Minister of Works and Housing Samuel Atta Akyea has visited communities in the Ketu South municipality hard-hit by Sunday’s tidal waves. The sea waves are said to have affected about 186 households, whose occupants have been stranded. Most of the residents have taken shelter at a basic school in the municipality, 3FM’s Michael Addo reported on Midday News on Monday. Mr Atta Akyea was at Blekusu and Agavedzi, the two hardest hit communities. He promised making arrangements to get displaced residents relocated. The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has launched the artificial hand pollination project aimed at increasing cocoa yields in the country. The project, to be being carried out in all the six cocoa growing districts in the country, involves the picking of pollen from the cocoa flowers and dropping it on the stigma for cross fertilization.
