An Accra High Court has rescinded its earlier decision to grant bail to a murder suspect, Gregory Afoko who had been unlawfully held in police custody for 120 days. The decision was taken by a different judge at the Accra High Court, Justice Merley Wood, thus overturning the decision made by another High Court judge, Justice George Buadi. Justice Buadi on March 14  granted bail to Mr Afoko who is standing trial for murder of the New Patriotic Party  Upper East Regional chairman, Adams Mahama in 2015. Pupils of Kanda Basic School, within the Kanda Cluster of Schools, have benefitted from free school uniforms from Inspire To Rise, a non-governmental organisation. The gesture is part efforts by the NGO to help the country meet the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4. It is dubbed: ‘Confidence in School’. In all, 50 uniforms were shared to the kids. The Editor of online news portal, Modern Ghana, Emmanuel Ajarfor has sued the National Security Coordinator, Joshua Kyeremeh; the Inspector General of Police, David Asante Appeatu; and the Attorney General, Gloria Akuffo. The suit, which has been filed at the Human Rights Division of the High Court avers that Mr. Ajarfor’s rights to personal liberty, a fair trial and human dignity were violated by the conduct of the officials of National Security when they arrested him recently. The Democratic Republic of Congo has confirmed the first case of Ebola in the eastern city of Goma, home to more than a million people. The health ministry confirmed that a pastor tested positive for the virus in a centre in Goma after arriving there by bus on Sunday. The ministry says that risk of the disease spreading is low. More than 1,600 people have died since the Ebola outbreak began in eastern DR Congo a year ago.
