Black Stars coach, Kwasi Appiah has named André Ayew as the permanent captain of the team. This follows a meeting with the top brass of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalization Committee (NC) after which approval and full backing was granted to the plans of the coach. Persons with hearing impairment are allegedly being refused registration for Ghana Card by National Identification Authority (NIA) officials at the various mass registration centres in Accra. NIA officials at the headquarters are also said to have declined to grant audience to the Ghana National Association of the Deaf (GNAD) to deliberate on how persons with deaf could be registered in the exercise. An agreement has been reached by authorities in the Lower Manya Krobo municipality in the Eastern Region, directing residents to allow staff of Power Distribution Services (PDS) access to homes to “pick current readings from their metres to generate actual bills for them”. Government is considering reviewing passport fees upwards to help it break even and avoid the current losses incurred in the processing and production of passports. Ghana has given a firm indication of initiating a legal action against producers of the popular 2018 American superhero film, Black Panther, over alleged patent and copyright breaches. According to the Ghana National Folklore Board, Marvel Studios, who are the producers of the record breaking film, used the country’s famous and celebrated traditional fabric, Kente, in some of its scenes without appropraite permission.
