Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM) Charles Cromwell Nanabanyin Onuawonto Bissue has resigned his position. In a letter dated March 1, 2019 and addressed to the Office of the President, Mr. Bissue attributed his decision to resign to not wanting to compromise the work of the IMCIM. The Tamale Metropolis is undergoing some rigorous beautification process ahead of the 62nd Independence Parade to be hosted in the Northern regional capital next week. This is the first time the national event, which falls on March 6, is being held outside the national capital Accra. Three of the suspects who were declared wanted by the Ashanti Regional Police Command over a shooting incident at the regional office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kumasi have reported themselves to the police.
