Special Prosecutor nominee, Martin Amidu, has said he discharged his duties fully and distinguished himself creditably when he was the Deputy Attorney General and Minister of Justice under the National Democratic Congress. At his vetting Tuesday morning, Mr. Amidu admitted he studied for a certificate from an institution in Ohio in the US, but that did not in any way affect his ministerial duties, indicating he did the course at his private time. Traffic on some major roads in parts of Accra came to a standstill Tuesday following an early morning rains in some areas of the city, flooding the roads in the affected areas. The affected areas included the Korle-Bu mortuary road to Obetsebe roundabout, Odorkor-Kaneshie road, Kaneshie first light, and Kasoa – Mallam road. The rains, which started at about 5:30am, lasted about an hour-and -a-half and flooded some major roads causing hundreds of cars to stuck during the morning rush hour. Accra Hearts of Oak have suspended Frank Nuttal as coach over what the Phobians claim is “unsporting and ethical behavior”. A club statement did not explain what the unsporting and unethical behavior was but claimed Nuttall had admitted to those behaviours in a board meeting. The 84 year old former actor, born Asonaba Kwaku Darko, died on Tuesday, February 13 at the Swedru Government Hospital where he had been on admission since Saturday. Until his death, he had been away from the limelight due to ill health and lived in Agona Swedru. The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCO) has attributed the interruptions in power supply to cuts  in some high tension lines. In a press release dated February 9, 2018, NEDCO said the cut affected power supply, giving an assurance that the situation would be resolved in due time. “There has been a High Tension line cut on Feeder 9 this evening causing outages in several areas including; Russian Bungalows, Regional Administration, Gbewaa Residential, and parts of Vitti,” NEDCO stated in the release. Residents in some parts of Cape Coast have resorted to wells and sachet water for domestic chores due to erratic flow of treated water from the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL).
