The Accra High Court has quashed the decision by the Lands and Natural Resources Minister, John Peter Amewu, to revoke the mining exploration leases granted Exton Cubic. The court presided over by Justice Kweku Ackaah-Boafo held the Lands and Natural Resources Minister exceeded his powers by assuming the powers of an adjudicator. Three months after the controversial Ghana Post GPS system was launched by the government, patronage of the system that was touted as the solution to the decades of poor addressing system in the country, has been low. Twitter just rolled out a new design for embedded tweets that could attract new users to the site, while deterring fake bot accounts at the same time. Embedded tweets on news stories and other sites no longer show how many times a post has been retweeted, according to Slate, which first spotted the change. Former Petroleum Minister Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah has asked government to scrap the special petroleum tax with immediate effect. “I think it is important that in the face of the numerous taxes, the special petroleum tax must be removed with immediate effect,” he told TV3’s parliamentary correspondent, Evelyn Tengmaa.
