One hundred and thirty-three district directors of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) who have been demoted and transferred from their duty posts have sued the Organisation and its Director General, Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh. The workers claim their demotion and transfers were done without recourse to the conditions of Service of NADMO and in contravention of the Public Service Commission’s Regulation, hence want the court to reverse the decision. A 23-year-old man who put up for sale the decapitated head of a boy has been arrested at Sankro, a village near Dixcove in the Western Region. Police say Alex Tetteh was arrested Tuesday at about 5:15pm by the people of the village when he was searching for a potential buyer for the head, which is believed to be that of a 12-year-old boy. A 120-bed capacity hospital has been commissioned at Atuba to take care of the healthcare needs of the people in and around Binduri District in the Upper East Region. The multi-million facility, Azimbe Hospital, has two consulting rooms, Out Patient Department, theatre, laboratory, male and female wards and a kitchen among others and it is expected to run a 24-hour service. About seven container shops and two cars as well as school feeding foodstuffs for the Nurul Islamic Basic School have been destroyed by a Tuesday dawn fire at Suame Magazine, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. The incident happened at a cluster of mechanic shops at a spot called Zone 10. Victims who had their belongings burnt in the fire have begun counting their losses.
