Three persons have at least been confirmed dead in Bimbilla in the Northern region following sporadic shooting at about 9:30pm on Thursday January 11, 2018. Several others were rushed to nearby health facilities with gunshot wounds. Fusheini Issahaku, 35, Abdul Bassist Osman, 28, and  Salifu Razak, 35, who were hit by bullets were pronounced dead on arrival at the Bimbilla Government Hospital. General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia says the appointment of Martin Alamisi Amidu as the Special Prosecutor, is an indication that the New Patriotic Party government has an agenda, perhaps against the NDC. US President Donald Trump has reportedly lashed out at immigrants in a foul-mouthed Oval Office outburst. “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” Mr Trump asked lawmakers on Thursday, in remarks widely reported by US media. The Northern Regional Police Command will soon haul leaders of vigilante group, Invisible Forces, to answer questions on some “defiant” comments made by leader of the group Alhassan Ibrahim Abandi.
