The Akufo-Addo-led government has now reduced the corruption fight into statements without concrete action, the Member of Parliament for Adaklu Constituency in the Volta Region, Kwame Governs Agbodza assessed. He also taunted the government of coiling without the political will to tackle corruption associated with officials in his government. Mr. Agbodza was contributing to a discussion on TV3’s New Day hosted by Bright Nana Amfoh on Monday, following calls by the Center for Democratic Development-Ghana (CDD-Ghana) on government to take decisive action on fight against corruption in the country. “They have no interest in punishing their own who are corrupt.…
The house of a well-known serial caller, Appiah Stadium, came under serious attack Sunday evening as assailants tried to burn down his house in the Ashanti region. Some unknown persons allegedly bombarded the house with petrol bombs with occupants indoors. A video seen by 3news.com shows some burning objects on the compound of a house purported to be that belonging to Appiah Stadium of the opposition National Democratic Congress. We are unable to currently confirm if a car that was parked close to balls of fire was even affected or the house later went up in flames. But a voice…
It was a traumatic scene early Sunday when a man believed to be in his twenties, butchered his pregnant girlfriend to death and attempted suicide at Asankragua Newtown in the Western Region. It’s unclear what provoked Felix Kwabena, a galamsey operator, to murder his girlfriend, Abena Nafisatu, who is four-month pregnant but neighbours say the two who are from the Upper East, had a disagreement over the pregnancy the night before the incident. According to the neighbours, Kwabena denied responsibility for the pregnancy, claiming that Nafisatu was seeing other guys in the town who always phoned her, Michael Assan of…
The Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Asiama has resigned. Sources say he has taken his accumulated leave leading to his exit from the bank by the close of this month. Dr Asiama’s decision to move on was communicated in the first week of December to some senior persons at BoG. Did Dr Asiama resign or was he pushed? It is not clear for now what might have influenced Dr Asima’s decision to move on or step down from that position, but sources say challenges in working with the new government and some key senior persons at the BoG because he is…
I met him in church one Sunday morning. He sat next to me and I couldn’t help it but recognize the kind of gentleman he was. He was soft spoken and had this shyness on her face anytime he tried to talk to me. During the service, I realized he was finding it uneasy to sing along with the church because he didn’t come along with a hymn book. I shared mine. We both sang from the same hymn book and got closer as the service progressed. After the last grace was said by the priest and the church dispersed,…

Manchester City stretched their lead at the top of the table to 11 points and created Premier League history with a 14th successive victory this season as they overcame Manchester United at Old Trafford. Pep Guardiola’s side also ended United’s 40-match unbeaten run at home – which stretched back to their win here in September 2016 – to strike a potentially decisive blow against their closest rivals in the title race. City took the lead their vast superiority deserved when man-of-the-match David Silva hooked home from close range after confusion at a corner on 42 minutes, only for United to…

Former President Jerry John Rawlings has again been forced to purge himself of false attributions that sought to pitch him into others. The latest of such attributions is a widely circulated post on social media, suggesting that pastors without jobs are thieves. “Paul was a tent maker, Peter was a fisherman, Jesus was a carpenter. If your pastor has no day job, he’s a thief,” the post described by the Office of the former President as “fictitious” stated. The claim also appeared on “fake” Facebook and Twitter accounts of the former president. The statement from the former president’s office said…
