Fifteen illegal miners operating within the Upper Denkyira East District of the Central Region have been arrested by a combined anti-galamsey taskforce. They have been handed over to the Police. President Donald Trump has announced that the US now recognises Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, overturning decades of official US policy. Mr Trump described the move as “a long overdue step” to advance the Middle East peace process. The fate of the ancient city is one of the thorniest issues between Israel and the Palestinians. The Federation of Muslim Councils (FMC) says it is in no doubt that homosexuality remains an abominable subject (Haram), and has called on Parliament to make the offence punishable by law in Ghana. The National Security has invited the leadership of the Abossey-Okai Spare Parts Dealers in Accra for a meeting on Thursday, December 7 over a brewing tension in the spare parts hub due to an upcoming election there. The MTN Ghana Foundation would in 2018 support 300 students at the tertiary level to pay their fees for their four-year degree program. This is expected to ease the burden on parents who struggle to pay their wards fees at the tertiary level,  a senior manager with MTN Ghana Foundation, Georgina Asare Fiagbenu announced. “What we are doing is laying a new foundation to bring more students on board the educational policies of the foundation,” she explained.
