The Ghana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) has inaugurated a new Board and Officers in Accra on Monday 25 September 2017 following the adoption of a new Constitution on 17 July 2017 at its Annual General Meeting held in Accra. The Member of Parliament for Mion Constituency in the Northern Region, Abdul-Aziz Mohammed has rejected government’s claims that it has no control over increasing fuel prices, saying that position “is unforgivable”. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP said “today, we are being told that government can do very little about the price of fuel in the country and that the world market decides the prices”. Fuel prices were increased recently by 3%, a situation the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers blames on petroleum taxes. Ghana is considering a bid for the 2018 Championship of Africa Nations after Kenya were stripped of the hosting rights for the event. Deputy Sports Minister Pious Hadzide told TV3 Sports that they are looking into the possibility of putting in a bid before the deadline of October 1st. Government says it has little control over the rising fuel prices in the country that has caused public outcry, particularly among transport operators. Three Israelis have been shot and killed by a Palestinian gunman at the entrance to a Jewish settlement in the occupied West Bank, Israeli police say. The gunman was also shot and died later but has not yet been identified, the authorities said. The attacker had “arrived at the rear gate of Har Adar along with Palestinian labourers entering the settlement” before opening fire on Israeli police guards, police said.
