Chief Executive of Marwako, Alhaji Marwan Mohammed Chaaban, has expressed gratitude to customers of the popular fast food joint for their unwavering support despite the alleged assault case that hit the company early this year. He said the February 28 incident between two employees at the Abelemkpe branch of the food joint affected the company at the initial stage but business has now picked up. One person is feared dead after the team bus of Asante Kotoko was involved in an accident near Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region. The team was returning to Kumasi after a narrow 0-1 loss to Inter Allies in midweek. It is unclear what may have caused the accident but reports say the bus rammed into a parked truck. Emergency medical officers are at the scene to rescue injured survivors including head coach Steve Polack and his assistant, Godwin Ablordey. The first and second floors of City Lights Limited, located at East Legon near American Int. School, was engulfed by fire on Wednesday afternoon. It is unclear what caused the fire, which was reported to have started at about 4:30pm. Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service with support from the police managed to douse the fire after hours of fighting it. Italian-born Ghanaian footballer  Solomon Nyantakyi, who is highly talented, has been arrested in Italy for the alleged murder of his mother and sister on Tuesday night in the city of Parma. He was arrested by police while on an escape route in Milan on Wednesday morning as the security forces chased him for allegedly murdering his mother Patience Nyantakyi Mfum and little sister Magdalene Nyantakyi who all lived in Italy. Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has promised the winners of the 2017 National Science and Maths quiz full educational scholarship. The package will see the contestants of Prempeh College receiving full scholarship for their tertiary education. The General Secretary of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU), Solomon Kotei, says the minimum wage in Ghana is not enough for anyone to live a comfortable life, describing it as a “survival wage”.
