A 37-year-old police officer, Gasty Yahaya Seidu, a 35-year-old security man, Seth Kponyo Dodzi, and a third person have been arrested in connection with a robbery incident at Okwenya Filling Station in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality. The robbery incident took place on Monday, March 26. Police reports indicate that the suspects inflicted machete wounds on two security men on duty. Several items were found on them after their arrest. Superintendent Asare Nyarko said one of the security men who was beaten mercilessly helped in identifying the three suspects. Ghanaian midfielder Kingsley Sarfo has been charged with two counts of statutory rape of a minor. Prosecutor Rikard Darell announced in the Swedish city of Malmo that there is enough reason to charge the player who has been in custody since February. “Now the investigation is complete and I think I have sufficient reason for prosecution,” Darell told local media.
