A Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Dr. Lord Mensah, has opposed assertions by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, that the banking sector clean-up which resulted in the setting up of the Consolidated Bank of Ghana (CBG) yielded positive results including improved deposits. But speaking on The Key Points on TV3, Dr Lord Mensah said the minister’s comments could not be…
A banking consultant, Nana Otuo Acheampong, has said the revocations of the licenses of 23 savings and loans companies by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) in an effort to clean-up the sector would have been done much earlier if government funds were available to do so. The Bank of Ghana on Friday announced the completion of the banking sector clean-up with the revocation of the licenses of GN Savings and Loans and 22 others. The BoG…

Procrastination is common – but in extreme cases it can be bad for your health, putting you under extra stress as the missed deadlines whizz by. Here’s how to break out of the habit. By then of course the washing was done and I could procrastinate for a bit longer by hanging it out to dry in the garden and watering my plants while I was there. This didn’t…

A popular gay social network has accused Google of discrimination after its app was removed from Google’s Play store several times without warning. Hornet said Google often employed moderators in Malaysia, where same-sex relationships are illegal, to vet apps. A rival gay dating app told the BBC that it had also been blocked globally by moderators based in the country. Google said it did not comment on individual apps but denied that the company was anti-LGBT. Christof Wittig, chief executive of Hornet, said he was concerned that moderators in Malaysia had the power to “remove LGBT apps worldwide, without warning”,…
