Ghana has downplayed the role of Canadian security experts in rescuing two of its nationals kidnaped in Kumasi last week. The Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has disclosed it took the Ghana National Security agencies only 25 minutes to complete the rescue operation of the two Canadian girls who were kidnapped in Kumasi. They were rescued in the early hours of Wednesday, June 12 at Suwaba, a suburb of Kumasi. Stakeholders in the cocoa business have agreed in principle that they will not buy a tonne of cocoa from Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire below $2,600. Pentecostal churches in Ghana say they are counting on prayers as the number one weapon to avert a possible attack on churches in the country, measures being put in place by the various churches.
