A senior Anglican minister has been criticised for saying people should pray for Prince George to be gay to help the Church of England recognise same-sex marriage. The Very Reverend Kelvin Holdsworth wrote a blog post urging people to pray him “to be blessed one day with the love of a fine young gentleman”. His comments have been described as “unkind” and “destructive”. Mr Holdsworth is provost of St Mary’s Cathedral in Glasgow. The Abeka Sanitation and Motor Court has fined eight persons an amount of GH¢ 360 each or in default three months’ imprisonment with hard labour for improper disposal of refuse at unauthorised places in Accra. Two other accused persons, who pleaded not guilty were granted bail of GH¢ 1,000 each with one surety and would re-appear on December 7, 2017. Police in India say they have arrested a man whose smelly socks caused a dispute between him and fellow passengers on a bus. They told the BBC they had lodged a complaint against Prakash Kumar, 27, for “causing a public nuisance”. A 41-year old Cashier at the Small Tax Office (STO) of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in Tamale, Fuseini Hamza, has allegedly swindled the State a whopping GHC2,043,774.30 The man, who has been charged with two counts of stealing and money laundering, has since October 25 been on prison remand as he was unable to meet the conditions of a bail granted him by the Tamale High Court. The Police at Axim in the Western Region have impounded a total of 76 slabs of substances believed to be narcotics. The substances were being transported from the Elubo area to Takoradi in an Ivory Coast registered Hyundai 4X4 vehicle but on seeing the Police, the two ‘smugglers’ abandoned the vehicle after they had been given a chase.
