Ms Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Minister of Foreign Affairs has said that government would organise an emergency meeting on Ghanaians detained in Libya and the migrant situation there. According to her, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would collaborate with the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Gender and Social Protection and other MDAs to arrange the meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on migration. The objective of the meeting is to come up with concrete measures to deal comprehensively with the situation of the Ghanaian detainees in Libya. Mr Anders Samuelsen, the Danish Foreign Minister has said Ghana’s quest to develop its economy beyond aid depended highly on empowering its entrepreneurs to grow and expand their businesses. Zimbabwe’s new president Emmerson Mnangagwa has named his cabinet, appointing senior military figures to high-profile positions. Mr Mnangagwa has made Sibusiso Moyo, the general who appeared on state TV after the recent military takeover, the new foreign minister. A civil organization,  calling itself the Fighters, has condemned what it calls “crude slavery” being practised in Libya as it calls for military action in that country. Tullow Oil plc (Tullow) has announced the completion of the refinancing of US$2.5 billion of Reserves Based Lending (“RBL”) credit facilities. The US$2.5 billion of credit facilities are split between a commercial bank facility of US$2.4 billion and an IFC facility of US$100 million.
