Squatters along the Achimota rail lines in Accra have turned the Accra-Nsawam train into in a lavatory. The Accra-Nsawam shuttle has not been operating for about two months now to pave way for rehabilitation of the rail tracks. But squatters have taken advantage of the circumstance to defecate in the stationed coaches. Garbage generated from domestic activities also end up in the train. The coaches have also become a safe haven for miscreants. Managers of Ghana Railways Authority declined to comment on the issue when contacted by TV3. The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested a 34-year-old self-styled lawyer, Michael Asante for defrauding a number of people to the tune of over GH¢748,000. Around 46 people have died, 46 are injured, and 10 are unaccounted for after explosions at a fireworks factory in Indonesia. The blaze took hold at around 09:00 local time (02:00 GMT), at an industrial complex in Tangerang, west of the capital Jakarta. “We are still evacuating victims… there are 46 body bags,” Tangerang Kota police chief Harry Kurniawan told AFP. The Governments of Ghana and France have signed performance contracts to monitor the level of accountability at public sector institutions in Ghana. The French Ambassador to Ghana, Francois Pujolas said,  “Ghana’s private sector would be more attractive to both local and foreign investors when the public sector becomes more accountable.” The Government of France is introducing performance contracts in collaboration with the State Enterprises Commission (SEC) and the Public Sector Reform Secretariat. The Pathologist who carried out the autopsy on the lynched soldier, Maxwell Adam Mahama says he was not able to trace parts of the deceased’s body during the process. Dr Lawrence Adusei could not tell who had taken missing body parts of the slain army officer and for what purpose. Commander of Operation Vanguard, Col William Agyapong is shocked by the 504 illegal miners arrested barely three months into its operations. He said the taskforce has picked intelligence about illegal mining activities taking place in the Central region, expressing surprise at the number of persons apprehended within a short period.
