The National Communications Authority (NCA) has warned it would not hesitate to revoke the license of 97 radio stations by the end of the month. Already, 34 radio stations had their operational authorization revoked last week for failing to renew their expired authorization for several years and operated illegally. The regulator published a 30-page list of about 130 radio stations on Thursday, 28th September, 2017 that it has imposed sanctions on for various infractions in their operational authorization permits. At least 50 people have been killed and another 200 have been wounded in a mass shooting at a Las Vegas concert. A gunman, named as 64-year-old local resident Stephen Paddock, opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel towards an open-air music festival. Ashok Kumar Sivaram, an Indian businessman, has filed an application praying an Accra High Court to commit Kwame Takyi, the Comptroller of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) for contempt. The Bank of Ghana is likely to keep its key rate above 20% well into next year as inflation exceeds its target and economic growth accelerates. Inflation seems to have hit a floor at about 12-13% and faces upward pressure from energy prices in coming months. About two hundred and sixty eight million dollars ($268m) of investments have been lost within months following government’s ban on small scale mining, Small Scale Miners Association claims.
