Leading digital money transfer service, WorldRemit and the Miss Ghana UK Foundation have announced the winner of the #MyFutureGH contest. They will invest the GH¢20,000 prize fund in Miss Edna Azumah Aninga’s proposal to use art to curb societal problems. Ghanaian reggae/dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, on Saturday escaped an attack on his life at Ashaiman, but his wife has been injured. The BET 2015 best international act (Africa) had a knife slit through a tent in which he was dressing up for his ‘Ashaiman To The World Concert 2017’ (ATTWC17). The National Peace Council has urged ECOWAS to intervene in the ongoing Togo crisis to prevent it from degenerating. Reverend Professor Emmanuel Asante, the Chairman of the National Peace Council, said there is the need for ECOWAS to set up a high powered committee, which would bring the two factions together for dialogue on the way forward. The Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) is to convene an emergency council meeting Monday over sanctions meted out to 131 radio stations by the National Communications Authority (NCA). A statement issued by GIBA’s president, Andrew Danso-Aninkora said the association would hold the meeting in Accra “to discuss a common ground and the way forward with the matter”. About 34 radio stations had their operational authorization revoked for failing to renew their expired authorization for several years and operated illegally. The former American football star and actor OJ Simpson has been released on parole after nine years in a Nevada jail. He had been serving time for armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and 10 other charges over a 2007 confrontation at a Las Vegas hotel. Simpson was approved for early parole release at a board hearing in July. In 1995 he was acquitted of the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goodman.
