Six doctors from the Kenyan doctors’ union have been given a one-month suspended sentence for refusing to call off the ongoing strike which has paralysed operations in public hospital, the country’s Daily Nation newspaper reports. The Employment and Labour Relations Court ordered the union to end the strike and finalise negotiations with the government within the next two weeks. MEPs are to vote on the first comprehensive set of rules for how humans will interact with artificial intelligence and robots. The report makes it clear that it believes the world is on the cusp of a “new industrial” robot revolution. MEPs will decide whether to give robots legal status as “electronic persons”.
