Almost three out of every five public schools in Ghana (58 per cent) do not have access to drinking water supply facilities while 30 per cent do not have toilet facilities. It is exactly 18 years today when over 126 football fans lost their lives during a match between rivals Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko on May 9, 2001. The central bank has issued a warning to companies, institutions and individuals engaged in businesses in foreign exchange. According to a statement from the Bank of Ghana, the sole legal tender in Ghana is the Ghana Cedi and Ghana pesewa. The Ghana Plastic Manufacturers Association of Ghana has accused government of failing to use the revenue accrued from the environmental levy for its intended purpose. President of the association, Ebo Botwe who was speaking on 3FM Sunrise on Wednesday, May 8 said the tax imposed on plastic manufacturers was to be used to curb plastic waste menace in the country.
