A hectare of degraded land caused by the activities of illegal small-scale miners would cost the government GH¢ 60,000 to restore it to the natural state, Mr John Peter Amewu, the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, has said. The families of some 120 unknown deceased persons have been given 21 days ultimatum from November 8 to show up at the Police Hospital in Accra to identify and claim their bodies or risk mass burial.
