Three teacher unions have given the government a one-week ultimatum to address issues concerning their salary arrears. They are Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT). The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has launched the automated business registration system, ‘e-Certificate’ and ‘e-Payment’ on the online portal of the Registrar General’s Department with an assurance that the long delays associated with business registration is now a thing of the past. The completion date for the Ho Airport in the Volta Region has for the second time, been revised to March 2018 after contractors failed to meet the deadline seven months ago due to a number of factors. Mrs Golda Nunoo, Mother of four children, all with special needs, has been rescued from a suicide attempt by members of a support group she belongs to. The 13 members of the pro-New Patriotic Party vigilante group, Delta Force, who assaulted a public officer in Kumasi, have been handed a fine to the tune of GHC23,400. Conserveria Distribution Ghana Ltd, distributors of the GINO brand of food products in Ghana has donated various quantities of their products to some of the people affected by the recent Atomic gas explosion at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra. The donation is in response to calls on corporate Ghana, by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to support the victims of the gas explosion which claimed at least seven lives and severely injuring over 130 others.
