The Ghana Police Service says some major roads in the Accra metropolis would be closed to traffic for the inauguration of president-elect Nana Akufo Addo on Saturday January 7, 2016 from 4am. According to the police service unapproved vehicles or cars without the appropriate coloured stickers would not be allowed through the check points adding that the roads would be opened to traffic after the inauguration ceremony. The Electricity Company of Ghana has initiated measures in the Ashanti Region to retrieve more than GHC3 million owed it by individuals and institutions in the region. As part of the measures, it has embarked on an exercise to disconnect electricity supply to defaulting individuals and organisations including tertiary institutions and government agencies.
