Ghana has denied media reports that it has cancelled the issuance of emergency entry visas, popularly referred to as visa on arrival, to foreign nationals. The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has reiterated the commitment of his government towards ensuring that the country’s farmers reap much greater value from their toil. Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has been declared winner of a controversial re-run of the presidential election. He won 98% of the vote with turnout at just under 39% – less than half that recorded in August’s vote, according to the election commission. The opposition leader, Raila Odinga, pulled out of the re-run and urged his supporters to boycott it. The Chief Executive Officer of Vokacom, the company that developed the digital address system, has dismissed claims that government will pay an annual subscription fee of $400,000 to Google for deploying the service on its platform.
